Sheaves

WCI Sheaves, using roller bearings, are designed and fabricated to quality standards that meet API Specification 8C.

Sheaves are fabricated from rolled steel plate and forged steel hubs. This method of manufacturing eliminates imperfections that are often found in steel castings.

The parts of the sheaves are soundly welded together using 100% penetration welds in all critical areas.

Sheave grooves are formed for each specific wireline size and are flame-hardened to reduce sheave wear. Bearing races are pressed into the sheave hub to complete the assembly.

Sheave sizes, in addition to those considered standard, can be fabricated to meet the customer's requirements.

WCI sheaves meet or exceed API Specification 8C. Shown is a 42" diameter sheave being load tested by an independent laboratory.
