Lee C. Moore Secures New Orders for Patented Dual Offset Derrick™

TULSA, OK, July 30, 2014 – Lee C. Moore, a Woolslayer Company (LCM), announced today it has secured orders to fabricate two (2) of its recently patented Dual Offset Derrick™ structures for an international shipyard located in the Middle East. The newly designed derricks will become an integral part of a new generation of offshore jackup drilling rigs. Each 170’ tall derrick will be comprised of over 300,000 pounds of steel. The derricks “offset” the center of the wellbore in two directions enhancing a jackup rig’s total load capacity. The derricks also support static loads of up to 1,500,000 pounds and offer a safer and more practical rig working area. Each Dual Offset Derrick™ will be assembled and tested at LCM’s Port of Catoosa facility prior to shipping the units to a Middle East shipyard for jackup rig installation and dedication. The contract for the two Dual Offset Derricks™ are inclusive of the sale and eventual delivery of 43 offshore derricks by LCM from 2011 through the end of 2014.

Tom Wingerter, President and CEO of Lee C. Moore says, “Our new Dual Offset Derrick™ patent is another ‘pat on the back’ to our engineering, derrick services staff and our 108-year legacy of oilfield innovation. I am equally proud of the significant step change of the patent. The design leads to a safer jackup working area by providing an improved line of vision from a driller’s control position and for drilling crews when compared to other similar designs on the market.” “This patent will satisfy many of the forward looking offshore rig structure design suggestions we often hear from jackup builders”, added Wingerter.
